Tennessee Roots
& Education
Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, I graduated from Wilson Central High School in Lebanon, TN before pursuing higher education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville and furthered my education with a Master’s of Science in Public Service Management from Cumberland University.
Law Enforcement Background
My security career began at age 19 when I joined the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office as a paid intern. Upon turning 21, I attended the DCSO training academy and was promoted to Corporal just one year later. I served in the Armed Services Division, managing inmate transportation and participating in community initiatives including “Toys for Tots” and the “Sober Ride Campaign.” In 2014, I joined the United States Marshal Service as a District Officer, further expanding my expertise in law enforcement and security operations.
Founding Solaren Risk Management
In early 2017, my colleague Curtis E. Dodson and I founded Solaren Risk Management with a vision to deliver exceptional security services to commercial and government clients. Starting from a small office, we’ve grown to employ hundreds of security professionals across the southeastern United States, providing armed and unarmed security, off-duty police services, traffic control, and private investigations.
Leadership Philosophy
My approach to leadership centers on three core principles: comprehensive training, technological innovation, and unwavering professionalism. I believe that properly trained security professionals are the foundation of effective risk management, which is why Solaren invests heavily in continuous education and certification programs for all team members. Our training programs range from basic security protocols to specialized courses in emergency response, de-escalation techniques, and report writing.
Professional Achievements
Since founding Solaren, I’ve led the company through significant growth and expansion, establishing partnerships with major clients across Tennessee and neighboring states. Our team has successfully managed security for high-profile events, implemented disaster response protocols during natural disasters like Hurricane Milton, and pioneered the integration of advanced surveillance technology with traditional security services.
